Terms of Service
Last updated July 25, 2026
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and the developer of Jigu (“Jigu,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, opening, or using Jigu, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use Jigu
You must be at least 13 years old to use Jigu. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Jigu only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. By using Jigu you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. What Jigu does
Jigu is a travel companion. It shows a map, finds places near a point you choose, and uses an AI assistant to suggest and explain options based on data from third-party providers — including ratings, review counts, and visitor reviews from Google.
Jigu is free to use. There are no purchases or subscriptions at this time. If that changes, we will update these Terms first.
3. Your account
You can use Jigu without an account. Signing in with Apple is optional and exists so you can save places and see them on another device.
You are responsible for the Apple ID you sign in with and for activity under your account. Save only places you are comfortable having stored. Do not attempt to access anyone else's saved places.
You may delete your account and everything stored with it at any time, from inside the app: tap the globe to open your profile, then Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it, email the address below and we will action it promptly. We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these Terms.
4. Accuracy, AI, and independent judgment
Jigu's suggestions are generated by an AI system working from third-party place data. Both can be wrong. Opening hours change, businesses close, ratings shift, reviews may be biased or fake, and AI systems can produce confident-sounding statements that are inaccurate.
Treat everything Jigu shows as a starting point, not a verified fact. Confirm anything that matters — hours, prices, availability, accessibility, dietary or allergen information — directly with the business before you rely on it.
Jigu is not professional advice of any kind, including travel, medical, legal, financial, or safety advice.
5. Your safety is your responsibility
Jigu may show places in unfamiliar areas. It does not evaluate whether a route, neighborhood, business, or activity is safe for you, and it does not account for conditions such as weather, crime, civil unrest, health risks, local laws, or accessibility needs.
You are solely responsible for your own safety and for your decisions about where to go and what to do. Use normal caution, follow local laws and official guidance, and never rely on Jigu in an emergency. Do not use the app while driving or in any way that distracts you from your surroundings.
6. Third-party data and links
Place information, photos, ratings, and reviews come from third parties, primarily Google. AI responses are generated using Anthropic's models. Jigu also links out to third-party sites, such as Google Maps.
We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content, services, or businesses, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies. Your use of Google-provided content is additionally subject to Google's terms of service.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Jigu to help anyone else do so;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from Jigu, or use it to build a competing dataset or service;
- interfere with or overload the app or its infrastructure, including through automated requests, or attempt to bypass any limits or security measures;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- submit content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- misrepresent Jigu's output as verified fact, or present it as your own professional advice to others.
We may limit or suspend access to Jigu if we reasonably believe it is being misused or that doing so is necessary to protect the service or others.
8. Ownership
Jigu — including its name, logo, design, and software — belongs to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Jigu for your own non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted.
Place data, photos, and reviews belong to their respective owners and providers.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us an unrestricted right to use them without obligation or compensation to you.
9. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue Jigu, or any part of it, at any time and without notice. We may also impose limits on usage. Jigu depends on a network connection and on third-party services, and may be unavailable or degraded at times.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Jigu is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that Jigu will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any information it shows is accurate, complete, current, or reliable.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or for personal injury or property damage, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — Jigu, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for all claims relating to Jigu will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of Jigu, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Termination
You may stop using Jigu at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — survive termination.
14. Apple App Store
If you obtained Jigu from the Apple App Store, the following applies:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Jigu or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Jigu.
- If Jigu fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Jigu.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Jigu, including product liability claims, claims that Jigu fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- If a third party claims Jigu infringes their intellectual property, we — not Apple — are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting,” and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to highlight it in the app. Continuing to use Jigu after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
16. Governing law
Jigu is operated from the Republic of Korea, and these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protections of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, including in the United States, and you may bring claims in the courts available to you there.
