Privacy Policy

Location.When you tap the locate button, your device shares your precise location with the app. The map position you choose (your “anchor”) is sent to our server so we can search for nearby places. Location is used only while you are using the app — Jigu never tracks you in the background.

What you type. The questions you send in chat are transmitted so the assistant can answer them.

On-device settings. Whether you have completed the intro is stored locally on your device, as is your current conversation — so it is still there if the app reloads or you step away to read this page. Both stay on your device and are never sent to us. Closing and reopening the app starts a new conversation.

If you sign in. Sign in with Apple is optional. When you use it we receive an account identifier and the email address Apple releases — which may be a private relay address that forwards to you. We never see your Apple password.

Places you save.If you sign in and save a place, we store that place's details (name, location, address, rating, photo reference) against your account so your list follows you between devices.

We never ask for your phone number, and we do not collect advertising identifiers. Without an account, none of the above applies.

Solely to make the app work: finding places near your chosen point, showing their ratings and real visitor reviews, and answering your questions about them. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

To answer a request, we pass the necessary data to these providers, who process it under their own privacy policies:

• Google Maps Platform — receives your anchor coordinates to render the map and return nearby places, their ratings, reviews, and photos.
• Anthropic — receives your question and the place data found, to generate the recommendation. Your input is not used to train models.
• Vercel — hosts the app and processes requests in transit.
• Supabase — provides sign-in and stores your saved places, if you choose to create an account.
• Apple — handles sign-in and tells us only the identifier and email address you agree to share.

Without an account, nothing. Your location and your questions are used to fulfil the request in progress and are not stored on our servers afterwards.

With an account, we keep only your account identifier, the email Apple released, and the places you chose to save — for as long as your account exists. Standard server logs may briefly retain technical request data for security and reliability.

Jigu is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

You can refuse or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; the app still works — you just pan the map to choose a spot yourself. Clearing the app's storage removes the on-device settings.

You never have to sign in. If you do, you can unsave any place at any time, and you can delete your account and everything stored with it from inside the app: tap the globe to open your profile, then Delete account. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it, email jigu.trip@gmail.com. You may also revoke Jigu's access under Settings › your Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.
